Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CodeKH ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform. CodeKH is operated by CodeKH ("we", "our", or "us").

2. Description of Service

CodeKH is a free, open-source coding education platform designed for Cambodian students. The Platform provides interactive coding lessons, quizzes, an AI tutor, and gamification features including XP points, streaks, and leaderboards. All educational content is provided in Khmer and English.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of CodeKH, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You may sign up using an email address and password, or through Google OAuth. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 16, we recommend using the Platform with a parent or guardian's knowledge.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use CodeKH only for lawful, educational purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Platform to harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Submit offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content through the AI tutor or any other feature
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or Platform systems
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to manipulate XP, streaks, or leaderboard rankings
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation or infrastructure
  • Use the Platform to distribute malware, phishing attempts, or malicious code
  • Reproduce, distribute, or sell Platform content without permission
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

5. Educational Content

All educational content on CodeKH (lessons, quizzes, code examples) is provided for learning purposes. While we strive for accuracy:

  • Content is provided "as is" without warranty of completeness or accuracy
  • Programming languages and technologies evolve - some content may become outdated
  • The AI tutor provides assistance but may occasionally give incorrect answers
  • CodeKH is a supplementary learning tool and should not be considered a substitute for formal education

6. Code Execution

CodeKH allows you to write and execute code directly in your browser using Pyodide (a WebAssembly-based Python runtime). All code execution happens locally in your browser - no code is executed on our servers. You are responsible for the code you write and execute. Do not attempt to use the code execution feature to perform malicious actions.

7. AI Tutor

The AI tutor feature uses Google Gemini to provide educational assistance in Khmer. The AI tutor is designed to help explain coding concepts and debug errors. AI-generated responses may not always be accurate or complete. Do not share sensitive personal information with the AI tutor. We may review AI tutor interactions to improve the service quality.

8. Gamification and Leaderboard

CodeKH includes XP points, streaks, and a leaderboard to motivate learning. These features are for educational encouragement only and have no monetary value. We reserve the right to reset or adjust XP, streaks, or leaderboard rankings if we detect abuse or manipulation. Leaderboard data (display name and XP) is visible to all users of the Platform.

9. Intellectual Property

CodeKH is open-source software. The source code is available under the terms of its open-source license on GitHub. Educational content (lessons, quizzes, explanations) created by CodeKH is licensed for free educational use. You retain ownership of any original code you write in the interactive exercises.

10. Availability and Modifications

We strive to keep CodeKH available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Platform at any time. We may add, change, or remove courses and content without prior notice.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
  • Attempt to manipulate Platform features
  • Use the Platform for unauthorized commercial purposes

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact@codekh.com. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days.

12. Limitation of Liability

CodeKH is provided free of charge on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of learning progress, or reliance on AI tutor responses.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CodeKH, its contributors, and its operators from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the competent courts of Cambodia.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of CodeKH after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
