CodeKH ("we", "our", or "us") is a free, open-source coding education platform built for Cambodian students. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data. When you create an account or sign in, we collect:

Name and profile picture (if you sign in with Google)
Password (stored securely and hashed - we never store plain text passwords)

2.2 Learning Data

As you use CodeKH, we collect data about your learning progress:

Lessons completed and quiz scores
XP points earned and streak data
Code submissions within interactive exercises
Interactions with the AI tutor feature

2.3 Automatically Collected Data

We automatically collect certain technical information:

Browser type and version
Device type (mobile, desktop)
Pages visited and time spent on the platform
IP address (used for security and analytics)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and improve the CodeKH learning platform
Track your learning progress, XP, and streaks
Display leaderboard rankings
Power the AI tutor feature to provide personalized help

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase- for authentication and database hosting. Your account data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Google OAuth - if you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email, and profile picture with us. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Gemini AI- powers the AI tutor feature. Your questions and the lesson context are sent to Google's API to generate responses. See Google AI Terms.
Vercel - hosts the CodeKH website and collects basic analytics data. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS in the Asia-Pacific region). We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and secure authentication tokens. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

6. Cookies

CodeKH uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

CodeKH is designed for students of all ages in Cambodia. If you are under 16, we encourage you to use the platform with a parent or guardian's knowledge. We do not knowingly collect more personal information than is necessary to provide our educational services. Parents or guardians can contact us to request deletion of their child's account and data.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Export your learning progress data
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data and learning progress for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (such as total platform usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by posting a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of CodeKH after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
